For the time being, the stock markets are shut on Tuesday the 09th of August on account of Moharram. The stock markets will reopen for trading only on 10th August, Wednesday. However, the commodity trading will be allowed in the second half of Tuesday in the evening trading sessions. Since Tuesday also happens to be a banking holiday, there will be no trading and no clearing on this day. All settlements and clearing will get put off by a day. For example, if you bought shares on Friday, then you will get the delivery on Wednesday.

Similarly, had you sold the shares on Friday, then the payout to your bank account will come on Wednesday instead of Tuesday. There aer two more market holidays coming up in the month of August. For example, Monday the 15th of August will be a national holiday on account of Independence Day while 31sts August will be a market holiday on account of Ganesh Chaturthi. All these will be non trading days and non clearing days so the relevant T+1 settlements for F&O and the T+2 settlements for equity will be pushed back by a day.
