Why would you want to interrupt upward moving stock/stocks? Are you sure that the markets will correct from these levels? Can you predict the levels the stock markets will fall to rebuild a better portfolio? It’s never a good idea to time the market. Even ace investors like Warren Buffet don’t believe in them.

This idea is best encapsulated with a quote by stalwart investor Peter Lynch who says- “Far more money has been lost by investors preparing for corrections, or trying to anticipate corrections than has been lost in corrections themselves.” Investing is about being patient and seeking consistent returns over the long term. The focus is on buying stocks that will perform best over a period of years.

Stock markets are fundamentally a positive-sum game. This indicates that, even if you don’t know what you are doing, odds are that you will make money if you stay put for a sufficiently long period while investing in the right stock at the right time. Entry points are important and the timing of those are also in some sense crucial, but that is not a sure-shot way of achieving success. The simpler and in many a sense better way to approach investing, is to take out time to do your own homework and build knowledge about the asset class. If you look at the big picture and avoid getting rattled by daily ups and downs, you’ll be further along than most other market investors.
