The investment in Karkinos has been made by Reliance Digital Health, a unit of the Reliance Group. The quantum of investment was not disclosed. Karkinos Healthcare is a oncology-based managed-healthcare platform. Incidentally, Karkinos has the backing of some venerable names like Ratan Tata, Venu Srinivasan, Kris Gopalakrishnan, Vijay Shekhar Sharma and Ronnie Screwvala.

The Karkinos platform is rather interesting in that it helps in the early detection and diagnosis of common cancers. The Karkinos platform is a novel and innovated distributed cancer care model, which is estimated to have a huge potential in a country like India. Karkinos literally means elimination of cancer. The platform was floated by former Tata executives including Mr. Ravi Kant of Tata Motors and Venkata Ramanan a Tata group former Trustee.
