Can you tell me about the L&T proposed investing in data centres in Tamil Nadu?

Larsen & Toubro Ltd signed a memorandum of understanding or MOU with the government of Tamil Nadu to establish a data centre in the town of Kanchipuram nearly Chennai. L&T has committed to establish 90 MW capacity data centres as well as associated units in a phased manner that will be spread over next 5 years. Meanwhile, the Tamil Nadu government committed uninterrupted power supply and infrastructure support to L&T.

L&T will establish hyperscale data centres at Kanchipuram to provide end-to-end data centre services and it will be multi-cloud managed. Apart from cyber security services, the data centre will also provide digital transformation and application integration. Data centres are the next big investment opportunity and for L&T it is a construction opportunity and also a technology related opportunity.
