Ninjacart has launched FoodPrint, a food traceability infrastructure which effectively captures and helps users trace the end-to-end value chain of fruits and vegetables from farm to fork. This feature has become more relevant after COVID-19 as it helps people find out if the supply chain is vulnerable or not. This value chain tracks the farmer, the truck carrying the produce, the warehouse storing and processing, the helper handling the product at the warehouse, the retailer who bought the product right up to the delivery to the final consumer. It would be using a mix of RFID technology and Internet of Things (IOT) to complete this tracking loop. Through this initiative, Ninjacart will directly purchase the excess produce from farmers, to help them recover their investments. In the post COVID-19 scenario, this assumes a lot of significance.
