Shilpa Medicare announced that it had received in-principle approval from the Bengaluru based Defence Research & Development Organisation or DRDO to manufacture 2-Deoxy-D-Glucose or 2DG. This 2DG has been accorded emergency approval by the DCGI to help COVID-19 patients in their recovery process. Shilpa becomes the second company to get this arrangement with DRDO.
It may be recollected that recently Shilpa had also announced an agreement to manufacture and supply Sputnik V vaccine, the COVID-19 vaccine manufactured by RDIF of Russia. The stock of Medicare has more than doubled in the last 4 months and has now scaled to Rs.573 levels.
