Can you tell me about the new guidelines for strengthening pharma companies in India?

The Department of Pharmaceuticals released guidelines for Strengthening Pharmaceutical Industry scene. Here are the highlights.

a) Financial assistance will be provided to pharma clusters for creating Common Facilities. This will improve quality and ensure sustainable growth of clusters.

b) Interest subvention and capital subsidy to be paid to SMEs and MSMEs to meet national and international regulatory standards.

c) There are dedicated schemes like pharmaceutical Technology Upgradation Assistance Scheme and schemes for pharmaceutical & Medical Devices Promotion.

d) Support for clusters for creation of common facilities and these include R&D Labs, Testing Laboratories, Effluent Treatment Plants, Logistic Centres.

e) The units supported under this scheme are also expected to act as Demonstration Firms for the pharma clusters. MSME pharma companies will be supported in quality.
