Maruti Suzuki’s new manufacturing facility at Haryana will go on stream in 2025 and it will reach target output of 10 lakh units per annum over the next 7-8 years. The facility will entail an overall investment of Rs 18,000 crore. This is the third major facility of Maruti Suzuki in the state of Haryana. It already has key manufacturing facilities in Manesar and Gurugram in the state of Haryana and Sonipat adds to that list of manufacturing units.
The Sonipat factory is expected to cater to domestic and export demand. Currently, Maruti Suzuki has annual production capacity of 22 lakh units. Out of this 15 lakh units capacity is distributed between Manesar and Gurugram while the balance 7 lakh units is at the Suzuki plant in Gujarat. Out of the total outlay of Rs.18,000 crore, the first phase will entail an investment of Rs11,000 crore by Maruti Suzuki.
