Angel One (the new name of Angel Broking) reported 64.3% growth in
income for Mar-22 quarter at Rs.671.28 crore and sequential growth of 12.38%. The
principal brokerage business grew 62% yoy to Rs.682 crore. Angel One largely
benefitted from very aggressive new account openings, ability to successfully
leverage the digital growth channels and combined with aggressive trading
account activation. In last couple of years, Angel One has been one of the big
beneficiaries of the surge in trading and demat accounts in India.

For the Mar-22 quarter, net profits were up 100.85% to Rs.204.69 cr.
While profits doubled yoy, the sequential growth in profits was still
impressive at 24.39%. Angel One profits were boosted by a lower cost structure
and a greater dependence on the franchisee model. Angel One declared fourth
interim dividend of Rs.7 per share and final dividend of Rs.2.25 per share. Net
margins were a robust 30.49% for Mar-22 quarter compared to 24.94% in Mar-21
quarter. Net profit margins were higher by 294 basis points sequentially.
