The MCA has stipulated that companies with names deceptively similar to that of a previously registered company will face strict action if they do not change the name within 3 months. If the company fails to change its name within 3 months, then the government will go ahead and change its name.
Under the new rules, the non-compliant companies will be issued a fresh certificate of incorporation with the new name which will contain the letters ORDNC, which means that the order of regional director not complied. Such companies will have to print the letters ORDNC on its seals, stationary, office premises etc. This will apply to companies that are either identical or resemble an existing company too closely.
