Your existing trading account is absolutely good enough. There are no additional procedures required for intraday trading; your existing trading account will do. But yes, the preparation has to be more mental and psychological. You need to be mentally prepared for the nuances of intraday trading. Here is how you can set out on the intraday trading journey
Your existing equity trading is good enough and you can execute intraday trades in your existing trading account itself. The question is whether you require a demat account since intraday trading does not require delivery of shares. The answer is that SEBI regulations require that any form of equity trading cannot be done without a demat account. Even if you don’t use the demat account in intraday trading you still need to open a demat account. Of course, you can open a BSDA (Basic services demat account) to keep your costs at the bare minimum. The only thing you need to remember is that when you place an intraday trade, clearly mention that it is an intraday trade as you will then be margined accordingly.
