Do stock markets only trade in equities?

In fact, stock markets trade in a variety of asset classes. The NSE and BSE trade in equity shares, warrants, debentures, futures, options, currencies, interest rate futures etc. With SEBI regulating the commodity markets also, Indian exchanges will soon begin to offer trading in commodities like oil, gold, silver, agricultural products etc. Today, with a single trading account you can trade in equities, futures, options, currency futures etc. It is only for commodity trading that you need a separate dedicated trading account.
