Does Amazon still have a chance in the battle with Future Group?

In a way, you can say that Reliance Retail has played its cards very smartly. With most of the Future group leases already owned by Reliance Retail, they have started rebranding Future Retail stores as Reliance Retail stores. Mukesh Ambani has won Round 1 of the battle of wits with Amazon as the stores were taken over only after Future Retail defaulted on its lease payments. Reliance has already taken over 200 Big Bazaar stores for non-payment of dues and plans to take another 250 of Future retail outlets. It is now advantage Reliance Retail.
