Have any of the Vaccine candidates like Pfizer, Moderna or AstraZeneca finalized their vaccine price?

Moderna, the third of the vaccine candidates for COVID, will charge governments in the range of $25 to $37 per dose of COVID-19 vaccine candidate. Of course, the company has clarified that it would look at costs at lower levels in the case of large bulk orders.

That would make the vaccine the same price as a flu shot, which normally ranges between $10 and $50. In fact, the European Commission was planning to tie up with Moderna for the supply of millions of doses of the vaccine for a price below $25 per dose. The actual price is yet to be finalized.

Most of the developed nations are already falling over one another to corner the largest chunk of the vaccine when production actually starts. The demand increased after Moderna stated that its vaccine candidate had shown 94.5% effectiveness in preventing COVID-19. However, this is based on initial data and the overall effectiveness may be down to 70%.

After Pfizer and BionTech alliance declared good outcomes, Moderna became the second developer to report results that far exceeded the original expectations. The European Union has been in talks with Moderna of Germany for its experimental COVID-19 vaccine since July of 2020.
