How are the sugar exports likely to be in the current year?

As you are aware, the sugar sector follows a sugar marketing year that extends from October to September. For the sugar cycle year 2021-22, sugar exports are estimated to touch 9 million tonnes, compared to 7.2 MT in FY21. Big demand for Indian sugar has come from Bangladesh and Indonesia, which accounted for 44% of India’s total sugar exports. Till date, 8 MT has already been contracted and 5.72 MT has been shipped abroad.
