How did Eicher manage to get Mr. Siddharth *** reappointed as MD?

Eicher Motors managed to get the nod from shareholders to re-appoint Siddharth *** as MD for 5 years at the revised remuneration, but subject to a cap of 1.5% of net profits. This time around, the board split it into two proposals on reappointment and on remuneration. Reappointment proposal was cleared by 93.8% votes while the remuneration proposal was cleared by 98.6% votes. Separating the two proposal surely did help this time around.
