How did the heavyweights in the market perform in the previous week ended 22nd July 2022?

For the previous week that ended on 22nd July 2022, out of the ten most valuable stocks on the NSE listing, 9 of the companies added a combined Rs2.98 trillion to their market cap. The benchmark indices overall gained by a full 4.29% in the week, putting up two consecutive weeks of stellar performance in the markets. Barring LIC, which continued to be under pressure, all other heavyweights were gainers during the current week.

In terms of market cap gainers for the week, Reliance Industries added Rs68,565 crore in market cap and closely followed behind by TCS adding Rs64,930 crore. Among other big value names on the NSE, ICICI Bank added Rs34,029 crore while Infosys added Rs31,894 crore and SBI added Rs30,969 crore to their market cap. In addition, even Bajaj Finance managed to add Rs20,637 crore and Hindustan Unilever added Rs16,811 crore for the week.
