If you look at the most liquid stocks on the NSE during the previous week ended 03rd June, a total of 4 out of the 10 most valuable Indian companies by market cap saw value accretion of almost Rs231,320 crore. Almost the entire upward thrust to the market cap came from three stocks viz. Reliance followed by TCS and Infosys. The leader of the pack was Reliance Industries which led the way with massive gains of Rs138,223 crore in market capitalization.

Among other market cap gainers during the week, TCS also added Rs64,619 crore while Infosys added another Rs25,729 crore to its market cap, marking the broad revival in the IT sector as a whole. However, there were several losers too. Among losers; Bharti Airtel lost Rs25,955 crore, LIC gave up Rs13,472 crore, HDFC saw depletion of Rs9,355 crore and Hindustan Unilever Rs8,964 crore. In addition, HDFC Bank ceded market value of Rs6,200 crore while SBI lost Rs4,195 crore. The Nifty index was up over 1.4% last week.
