For the week ended on 25th February, all the top 10 stocks by market cap were down and that is hardly surprising with the Nifty down over 4% in the week. This is despite the 2.5% bounce in markets on Friday. The top 10 stocks lost Rs.333,308 crore in overall market value as the BSE market capitalization touched a 7-month low and is now hovering around $3.3 trillion. The fall came amidst rising geopolitical tensions and crude above $100/bbl.

During the week, TCS lost Rs.101,761 crore in market value while Reliance lost Rs.94,828 crore during the week. These 2 stocks accounted for most of the damage. Among other losers, HDFC Bank lost close to Rs.31,598 crore while SBI fell by Rs.29,094 crore and Hindustan Unilever gave up nearly Rs.33,235 crore in market value. Bharti Airtel and ICICI Bank lost over Rs.13,300 crore each. Almost all stocks on the Nifty ended lower.
