How did the results of Nalco Ltd turn out in the Sep-21 quarter?

Government owned Nalco also reported its September quarter results this week. NALCO reported 51.26% growth in total revenues for Sep-21 quarter at Rs.3,592.18 crore. Nalco reported half yearly sales growth of 61.5%% at Rs.6,067 crore for the fiscal to date period. In the Sep-21 quarter, the aluminium vertical reported 50.3% growth in revenues at Rs.2,635 crore while chemicals business reported 30.6% higher revenues at Rs.1,276 crore.

Net profits were up nearly 7-fold at Rs747.80 crore in the Sep-21 quarter. The rise in profits was largely triggered by a 10-times increase in the EBIT of the aluminium vertical which benefited from higher price realizations. At the same time, the EBIT of chemicals business also doubled yoy. Net profit margins were at 20.82% in Sep-21 quarter compared to 4.52% in the Sep-20 quarter. Nalco has declared interim dividend of Rs.2 per share.
