How did you find the Bharti Airtel profit numbers for the Jun-21 quarter?

For the Jun-21 quarter, Bharti Airtel reported net profits of Rs.284 crore, which was less than half of what the analysts had predicted. However, that did not appear to perturb the markets, if you go by price performance. In the Jun-20 quarter, Bharti Airtel had reported net losses of Rs.15,933 crore due to a massive one-time provision made for the AGR dues payable to the department of telecom or DOT.

Even in the Jun-21 quarter, the profits of Bharti Airtel were predominantly driven by its South African operations, which continues to be one of the most profitable segments of its business. Total revenues for the Jun-21 quarter was higher by about 5% at Rs.26,854 crore in the Jun-21 quarter. EBITDA margins improved by 570 bps yoy to 49.1%. Bharti added 51 lakh 4G customers in the Jun-21 quarter and its ARPUs were Rs.146 per month on average.
