For the September 2022 quarter, Asian Paints reported 19.2% growth in sales at Rs8,458 crore on a consolidated basis. However, sales were lower by -1.74% on sequential basis. The yoy growth was driven by the domestic decorative paint business which showed double digit growth despite the pressure of an extended monsoon and difficult market conditions. Apart from the core home décor segment, Asian Paints saw smart growth in the Automobile OE vertical and the industrial coatings vertical, especially the protective and powder coatings sub-verticals. Input cost spike was partially offset by price hikes during the year, but such hikes were for selective market segments and for specific geographies. Here is gist.
