Apollo Hospitals reported 31.9% sales growth at Rs.3,639 crore. Revenues from the core healthcare services business saw 40.3% growth yoy at Rs.2,024 crore. Sequential revenues were marginally lower by -2.10% yoy. The pharmacy distribution vertical saw revenues higher by 16% yoy at Rs.1,307 crore. Even the clinics verticals grew revenues 59% yoy at Rs.313 crore. During Q3, Apollo Hospitals raised a sum of Rs.1,170 crore through a QIP placement of 46.6 lakh shares at a placement price of Rs.2,511 per share.
Operating profits increased 65.14% yoy to Rs.438.03 crore in the Dec-21 quarter. However, sequential profits were lower by -6.85%. Healthcare services vertical saw operating profits higher by a very robust 102% yoy at Rs.382 crore. The clinics vertical saw operating profits grow almost 4-fold at Rs.25 crore, on a small base. However, pharmacy distribution operating profits fell -55%. There was a 35% spike in materials cost, largely offset by inventory efficiency gains. OPM improved from 9.61% to 12.04% in the Dec-21 quarter.
Net Profits for Dec-21 quarter were up 75.1% at Rs.228.37 crore as the strong operating performance of Apollo Hospitals got transmitted effectively and seamlessly to the bottom line. PAT margins were up from 4.73% in the Dec-20 quarter to 6.28% in the Dec-21 quarter. However, it must be noted that the PAT margins were lower by 49 bps on sequential basis.
