Brent Crude prices jumped to above $90/bbl as OPEC refused to budge from its planned and calibrated increase in supply. In the last few weeks, major global oil consumers like the US, Japan and India had been trying to prevail upon the OPEC Plus group to enhance output to bring down prices. For now, OPEC will hike output by 400,000 bpd from March onwards. Apart from Brent, even WTI crude is nearing $90/bbl. Oil prices is up 15% since Jan 2022.
