How do you see the impact of Tata Power getting a big defence order?

Tata Power bagged Rs 490 crore order from none other than the Ministry of Defence. Under the order, Tata Power will supply two Pinaka regiments. This is a system of rocket launchers which are specifically manufactured and specialized by Tata Power defence division.

Tata Power has had a couple of things going in its favour. Even as the power sector continues to remain under pressure, the long term plan to deleverage the company is a positive and the defence business could be a big boost for the future.
