Foreign portfolio investors withdrew Rs.4,444 crore from Indian markets till 21-May, which included equity outflow of Rs.6370 crore and debt inflow of Rs.1926 crore. FPIs have been wary in last 2 months due to COVID 2.0 and the fear it could dent India’s GDP growth story. In addition, FPIs had pulled out Rs.9,435 crore in April. India is not alone as other Asian EMs like South Korea and Taiwan also saw substantial FPI outflows.
