Net profits of the Nifty-200 index stocks were up by 120% yoy on the back of a sharp cyclical recovery in growth.
If you look at the profits of Nifty-50 companies, it has almost doubled. This can be attributed to the nominal GDP revised upward by 0.8% to Rs.197 trillion. Quarterly scorecard got a boost from sectors like metals, cement, building material, capital goods and autos. More importantly, the QOQ growth rate is over 25%, much better than most optimistic projections.
