This list of 23 companies that have sought SEBI approval for the IPO include some very big issues. There is the Rs.6,000 crore IPO proposed by Policybazaar as well as the Rs.5,000 crore IPO by Emcure Pharma. Then Nykaa is planning to raise Rs.4,000 crore while Adani Wilmar is slated to raise another Rs.4,000 crore while Go Air will raise Rs.3,600 crore. All these will add up to a very tidy sum for the full year, not counting the LIC IPO.
In 2021 till date, the total amount of Rs.70,000 crore raised through IPOs has seen enthusiastic response from retail, HNIs and even the QIBs. The oversubscription has been quite heavy for most issues, even crossing 100X in many cases. The last big fund raising happened in the year 2017 when over Rs.75,000 crore was raised through IPOs but that was predominantly by the divestment candidates, especially from general insurance space.
