Thanks to the strong underlying market sentiments, the Medplus Health Services IPO got a strong listing on 23rd December. The stock listed at a premium of 30.65% but the opening price proved to be the low price of the day as it built momentum all through the day. The closing was pretty close to the high point of the day. The IPO of Medplus had been subscribed 52.59 times and IPO price was fixed at the upper end of the band at Rs.796.

On 23rd Dec, Thursday, Medplus Health Services listed on the NSE at a price of Rs.1,040, reflecting a premium of 30.65% above the issue price of Rs.796. Even on the Bombay Stock Exchange, Medplus listed at a premium of 27.51% over the issue price. The closing of the stock was still better. On the NSE the stock closed at Rs.1,120, a first day premium of 40.7% on the issue price of Rs.796. Interestingly, the closing price was 7.69% above listing price.

On both the NSE and the BSE, Medplus listed at a healthy premium and closed higher. For example, on NSE, the stock of Medplus touched a high of Rs.1,143.90 and a low of Rs.1,040. On the BSE, the stock of Medplus touched a high of Rs.1,143.10 and a low of Rs.1,015. In a nutshell, on both the stock exchanges, the stock listed with robust gains and through the day, the listing price proved to be the low price as the stock gained further ground.

Volumes were strong on both exchanges with the stock among the most liquid on both exchanges. For example, on the NSE, Medplus traded 184.08 lakh shares valued at Rs.2,001.64 crore. Medplus was the most active stock on NSE by traded value. Even on the BSE, Medplus was the most active stock on traded value as it traded a total of 11.99 lakh shares on the BSE amounting to value of Rs.129.73 crore.
