Among the verticals, the beauty and personal care segment saw 3.6% growth at Rs.4,743 crore while Food and refreshment grew 5.3% at Rs.3,698 crore. Solid growth was seen in the 23.6% growth in Rs.4,743 crore. Beauty products were impacted by the third wave of COVID which had a negative impact on discretionary consumption. Home care, led by detergents and fabric care were among the best growth stories for Hindustan Unilever.
EBITDA margins were robust at 24.6% due to its influence on input costs. Price hikes also helped offset some of the input cost hikes. Home care segment saw operating profits up 14.8% at Rs.932 crore while food and refreshments saw operating profits grow sharply by 24% at Rs.713 crore. Net margins stood at 16.74% in Mar-22 quarter compared to 17.58% in Mar-21. For the fourth quarter, NPM was lower sequentially against 17.09%.
