The new CEO of Maruti, Mr. Hisashi Takeuchi, has confirmed that Maruti Suzuki will launch multiple EV models in India, beginning from 2025. This is part of their effort to participate in the government push for 30% EV penetration for private cars by 2030. Currently, there are 8.77 lakhs active EVs on Indian roads and Maruti has been a late started. They plan to launch their first car made in the Gujarat plant and have plans to dominate the EV market too.
