Is it correct that Tata Steel is likely to report the highest profit in FY22?

For now, it does look like Tata Steel will be the new star in terms of profits for the Tata group in FY22. When Q4 and full year profits for Tata Steel are announced later this month, it is very likely that after a gap of 14 years, Tata Steel profits may get the better of TCS. The last time this happened was in 2008 at the peak of the steel cycle. Since then TCS has dominated Tata Steel. Tata Steel came back from a big loss just 5 years back.

For full year FY22, TCS already reported net profits of Rs.38,490 crore. Tata Steel has already reported net profits of Rs.31,914 crore for first 9 months of FY22. With metal demand and LME prices robust, full year profits of Tata Steel are very likely to cross Rs.40,000 crore. That will make Tata Steel more profitable than TCS for the first time in the last 14 years. It will give some relief to the Tata group, which has become too dependent on TCS?
