That is absolutely correct. In fact, the Rs.16,600 crore IPO is expected to happen in the December quarter. Obviously, Paytm has bene talking to sovereign wealth funds and large investors to lend their heft as anchor investors in Paytm. This includes sovereign funds like Abu Dhabi Investment Authority and GIC of Singapore. Paytm is likely to seek a valuation of $20-22 billion for the overall business as part of the IPO.

As of now, Paytm has filed the DRHP with SEBI and is currently awaiting approval and comments of SEBI for the same. Apart from the sovereign funds, Paytm has also been talking to marquee investors like Nomura of Japan and Blackrock of the US to participate as anchor investors ahead of the IPO. Such big names would also attract domestic funds into the anchor book. Paytm is backed by Berkshire Hathaway and the Ant Group.
