This was a statement made by the Tata Sons Chairman, N Chandrasekharan, who divulged that Tata Motors will invest Rs.28,900 crore across its domestic business and JLR in financial year 2021-22. It will also use these funds for the development of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. The target for the company is that over the next few years, the product mix of Tata Motors will shift from 2% EVs to around 25% exposure to EVs. The sum was Rs.19,200 in Jun-20.

Tata Motors is heavily investing in hydrogen. It has also secured its first order from Indian Oil for 15 vehicles, and Tata Motors really has a lot going for it in the hydrogen fuel cell area. Tata Motors is looking to launch at least 10 models before 2025. It will also shortly launch an EV platform for the last mile commercial vehicles segment. Tata Motors is also looking to build a pan-India network of charging stations and also make profit out of it.
