That is absolutely correct because the Income Tax department again extended the last date for filing ITR for financial year 2019-20 to November 30, 2020 and this should hopefully be the last postponement. It may be recollected that in June, the government had extended the last date for linking Aadhaar with PAN card all the way to March 31, 2021.

In case of self-assessment tax up to a total liability of Rs.1 lakh, any balance tax that has to be paid by an assessee after accounting for TDS and advance tax can now be done till November 30 of this year. However, in case if self-assessment liability over Rs.1 lakh, no extension has been granted and interest will be levied on delayed payments.
