Is the government planning to file the DRHP for LIC IPO soon?

With the FM confirming that LIC IPO will be done and dusted in the current fiscal, It is reported that the government will file the DRHP for LIC IPO in the coming week. With sharply lowered disinvestment targets, the government may hive off around 5% stake in LIC for about Rs.65,000 crore. That should be good enough for this year targets.

The IPO is expected in March and the listing in the second half of March. Remember that it will be the largest ever IPO by a huge margin and nearly 4 times as large as Paytm. The embedded value of LIC is estimated at around $150 billion, so a 5% stake sale can easily fetch close to Rs.65,000 crore. That looks like the road ahead.
