Is the state of Maharashtra looking to invite Tesla to set up manufacturing in the state?

It is not just the state of Maharashtra but even Telangana state has laid out the red carpet for Elon Musk of Tesla. Both the states have been trying to aggressively woo Elon Musk to their respective states to explore the possibility of setting up a manufacturing facility for his Tesla cars, although Musk’s macro plan for India itself are not yet clear.

The only update from Elon Musk at this point of time is that he was still engaging with the Indian government on addressing certain very specific bureaucratic and tax related challenges pertaining to Tesla’s his proposed India foray.
