Well, generally companies ask employees to fill out nomination forms for this kind of scheme. In case, the employee has not filled/declared any nominee:

All members of the family become eligible to claim benefits (except major sons, married daughters with major sons, and married grand-daughters)

  • In case there is no family, legal heir of the deceased.
  • In case only minors are left, guardians of such minor nominee/legal heir.
These are the documents you will require to claim death benefits under the scheme:

  • Death certificate of the deceased.
  • Copy of a canceled cheque of bank account in which payment is expected.
  • Guardianship certificate in case the claim is made on behalf of minor nominee/legal heir/family member.
  • Succession certificate in case claim is made by the legal heir.
