The infrastructure sector has received a great boost by the Modi government in the Budget 2020. On 1st Feb. 2020, around 1.7 lakh crores are planned to infuse for transport, infrastructure including Railways.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, proposed to allocate Rs. 102 lakh crore of infrastructure projects in the following five years. Also, Government comes with a proposal to spend Rs. 103 lakh crore in infra projects and will release a logistic policy soon. The date of release is not yet disclosed.
Transport infrastructure in 2020-21 is considered for the investment of a total Rs 1.7 lakh crore that includes the accelerated development of highways and Rs.100 lakh crore more investment in upcoming infrastructure plans in the following 5 years.

In the Union Budget in Parliament, FM disclosed the government's interest in 2,500 km access-controlled highways and 9,000 km of the economic corridor.
Today, the budget also included new projects like housing, safe drinking water, clean energy, health, modern railway, airport, metro bus, logistics and 100 more airports would be added by 2024 under the UDAN scheme. Plans to monetize 12 lots of highway bundles will also take place.

In addition, investment for 2,000 km each of strategic highway projects and port connectivity projects will also be seen.

Stocks like Larson & Toubro and KNR Constructions and IRB Infra is estimated to be positive.
