For March 2022, Bajaj Auto has reported 20% lower vehicle sales at 297,188 units against 369,448 vehicles in Mar-21 last year. However, the full year vehicle sales for FY22 were 8% higher at 43,08,433 units. Withing the overall vehicles space, the two wheeler sales in Mar-22 was lower by 22% at 256,324 units.
Obviously, domestic sales suffered a lot more than export sales for Bajaj Auto, as has bene the trend recently. The domestic sales for Mar-22 fell 36% to 126,752 units, while the export sales were almost flat at 170,436 vehicles for the month. Even in two-wheeler sales, domestic sales fell by a whopping 41% while exports remained flat on yoy basis. The rural demand compression was the villain of the piece in this story.
