Air traffic is showing signs of picking up and in September 2021, domestic air passenger traffic was up 5.45% on a sequential basis compared to August 2021. With lockdown restrictions being eased, 7.07 million passengers flew domestically in Sep-21 as against 6.70 million in Aug-21.
The record number reached this year was 7.82 million in Mar-21. Passenger Load factor or PLF in Sep-21 was 63%-78.8% against 60.3%-79.6% in Aug-21. Indigo still commands lion’s share of the aviation market with 56.2% market share in Sep-21. Air India, SpiceJet, Go Air and Vistara all about 8-9% market share each while Air Asia had about 5.5%.
