Of course, if you look at the premium turnover the options currency does look small but if you get the notional value then you can make out that there is a genuine surge in the interest in currency options. They offer a lower risk method of participating in the currency markets and even downside risks can be better defined in these cases. While currency futures are still the mainstay, smart and savvy traders in the currency segment are increasingly using the limited risk window offered by these currency options to get more bang for the risk taken and the effort.
