Mutual fund loads are the commission and expenses of the schemes. Generally, there are two types of load an investor will encounter-
  • entry load
  • exit load
Entry load was a kind of fee applicable at the start of investment and exit load was basically a kind of charge applicable for premature withdrawal or withdrawal. With the introduction of the Total Expense Ratio in mutual funds, the concept of loads is nearly scrapped. Mutual funds do not charge entry loads anymore. Currently, very few schemes charge exit load. A no-load fund is a mutual fund that does not charge any sales levy any charge (entry or exit) on its investor (at the time of investment, or redemption).
