There are varying estimates on the Jun-21 quarter GDP, which will be officially announced on 31 August. Normally, the GDP for the quarter is announced exactly 2 months after the end of the quarter. For now, the RBI has held on to its estimate of 21.4% growth in GDP, and that is largely due to a very low base in the Jun-20 quarter. However, in the latest macro analysis, the SBI Ecowrap has pegged GDP growth for Q1 at just about 18.5%.

However, the report has made a point that while they were pegging the GDP growth at 18.5% there was a scope for the actual GDP to surprise on the upside. SBI considers a multi-variate model consisting of a total of 41 high frequency indicators in its estimation model. This is a proprietary model of SBI. For the June quarter, SBI Research expects the GVA or the Gross Value Added to grow at 15%.
