What is the latest on the US elections front and is it confirmed that Biden gets the better of Trump?

Nothing is confirmed till the last vote is counted. As the US voting count continues, the first signals of a Biden victory may be definitely emerging. The seat count stands at 264: 214 in favour of Biden but he still needs to decisively get to 270 to be considered a winner.

The odds are currently split. Biden has taken a lead in states like California, Illinois and New York; while Trump is leading in Pennsylvania, Texas and Florida. Clearing the anti-fracking stand of Biden appears to have worked against him in places like Texas and Trump appears to have gained the upper edge in these areas.

If you look at the US map, the surrounding regions are all dominated by the democrats while the central regions are all dominated by the Republicans. Among the swing states, Biden has already taken Wisconsin and Michigan and that is extremely significant.

If consistent objections from Trump are anything to go by, Biden appears to be surging. However, it is being admitted that the challenge posed by Trump was a lot tougher than people had imagined. For now, Trump is still in power and it remains to be seen if he can pull a rabbit out of his hat.
