At Reliance Life Sciences the scientists had analysed more than 100 genomes of the SARS-CoV-2 sequenced and designed unique RT-PCR primers. The testing methodology of Reliance Life Sciences has also shown a high success rate.
The kit developed by the scientists at Reliance Life Sciences has already been validated by ICMR for satisfactory technical performance. However, this validity is not a certificate of usefulness or user-friendliness of the product.
The experiments have shown that the kit can easily detect the presence of E-gene, R-gene, of SARS COV2 virus. As checked and confirmed by the Indian Council for Medical Research or ICMR, the kit shows 98.7% sensitivity and 98.8% specificity in its results.
