Wockhardt and Serum Life Sciences (of Poonawala group) will jointly make 150 million doses of SII vaccines at Wockhardt UK plant. It will be a profit sharing arrangement between them. The fill-and-finish facility for vaccines will take up to 2 years to be up and running. Wockhardt gets to use its UK facility and Serum gets long term capacity in close proximity to the UK and EU markets. This implies a bigger role for India in the global pharma supply chain.
