What is the tie up between GAIL and GACL?

GAIL and Gujarat Alkalis and Chemicals Limited or GACL have entered into an agreement to collaborate to set up a 500 Kilolitres per day (KLPD) bio-ethanol plant in the state of Gujarat. They will also simultaneously explore other business opportunities. The MOU was signed in the presence of the Gujarat Chief Minister. This is in sync with the thrust in ethanol blending with petrol and the recent reduction in GST rates from 18% to 5%.
