What was the reason for the stock market Sensex tumbling by 450 points on Monday and will the weakness continue?

Needless to say, the big reason for the fall in the market on 27 January 2was the Chinese virus scare. The pandemic appears to be spreading fast. Till now over 110 persons have been killed and it is expected to have impacted thousands of other also. The virus is quite deadly and is expected to reduce the demand for many Chinese products and also Chinese demand due to major health concerns. This could be a dampener to the global economic recovery which looked very likely after the US and China signed the first phase of the trade deal. That is not great news for the metal stocks that are largely dependent on the demand emanating from China.
