For the week ended 10-December, 70% of the top 10 companies or 7 out of the 10 most valuable companies on Nifty added total value of Rs.228,367 crore. However, this is a tad misleading as more than Rs.135,200 crore came only from Reliance and that too was because the 41.88 crore partly paid shares became fully paid shares and that added to the free float market cap of Reliance Industries. That was the driver of last week.

Other than Reliance Industries, ICICI Bank gained Rs.28,817 crore during the week, Bajaj Finance gained Rs.22,994 crore in the week, SBI added Rs.19,188 crore and Infosys added heft to the tune of Rs.9,988 crore. There were a handful of minor losers too in the market in the previous week. Among the losers, Hindustan Unilever lost Rs.2,396 crore in market cap while IT big brother, TCS, gave up nearly Rs.1,147 crore during the week gone by.
